KC Patrick a.k.a JitterBird (a penguin that has had too much coffee)
Karen "KC" Patrick is an artist and writer living in North Seattle. KC was first exposed to UNIX on a DEC PDP11 mainframe whilst taking computer science courses in the 80's. Later, she was a partner in a small WinDoze custom software development business. KC did product development, GUI design, technical documenation, and proposal writing.
KC was a sysop in Fidonet, a BBS system for ubernerds back in the early 90's. KC also was a sysop for Compuserve for EDRIVE, an entertainment forum for which the coolest part was getting access to Compuserve for free back in the day.
In the last few years, she has developed an interest in wiki for use as a tool for non-profit organizations. KC is an enthusiastic wiki supporter, yeah, even wiki evangelist. (If only the bulk of internet users hadn't been conditioned to being mere consumers of information.)
KC lives with her disabled adult daughter for whom she is a full-time caregiver. She has two grown sons who have a rock band @ http://www.amadon.us.
KC has no pets but would take in stray penguins.
